Business Context and Issue
A retailer sought to thrive in a competitive market and fuel ambitious growth. This required a fundamental supply chain shift. They launched a new e-commerce platform and integrated omnichannel capabilities. To support this transformation, they needed to implement a best-in-class warehouse management system (WMS) and leading warehousing practices.
Methodology and Impact
This initiative involved a comprehensive warehouse operations redesign through the implementation of Oracle Cloud WMS. Integrating with the existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications, we enabled efficient processing of online orders and convenient distribution center (DC) pickups. By aligning and streamlining processes across 17 DCs, we significantly improved inventory accuracy and order fulfillment across the national network. This modern WMS proved to be crucial for the success of the broader program and drove tremendous first-year results.
Business Context and Issue
The pandemic exposed critical vulnerabilities in the warehouse operations of a large hospital network. The warehouse team had to deal with a surge in priority orders, rapid stock depletion, and forced inventory re-slotting. To better cope with these challenges and ensure timely delivery to healthcare providers, a strategic WMS upgrade was deemed necessary.
Methodology and Impact
We responded by implementing Oracle Cloud WMS in a lean and accelerated fashion over 9 months. Automated material handling equipments (MHE) were integrated: a carousel and a pick-to-light system. The streamlined and automated operations eliminated redundancies and enhanced accuracy, safety and security. System-directed processes significantly improved order lead times, prioritizing critical medical supplies. Enhanced key-performance indicators and reporting provided greater transparency, enabling better alignment with hospital stockroom needs.
Business Context and Issue
A municipality requested support to validate apparent inefficiencies and address key challenges in warehousing, inventory traceability, and procurement.
Methodology and Impact
We conducted a detailed assessment with interviews at different levels and inventory data analysis. A comprehensive process mapping and redesign was completed across the different functional areas of warehousing. We leveraged existing systems capabilities to implement leading practices and incorporate innovative solutions. New standard operating procedures (SOPs) and optimized system configurations were documented. This improved productivity, reduced lead times and errors, and fostered a continuous improvement mindset with a detailed follow-up action plan.
Digital Supply Chain Transformation and Post-acquisition Integration
Telecommunications, Leading Services Provider - Canada
Business Context and Issue
A Telecommunications leader sought to modernize its supply chain and integrate a newly acquired company. A large digital transformation program was launched to migrate supply chain systems to the Cloud and incorporate acquired facilities and resources onto Oracle Cloud WMS and ERP platform.
Methodology and Impact
This ambitious project required a complex system architecture with over 16 interfaces designed between the WMS and its peripheral systems. These included the ERP applications, from Master Data Management and Purchasing to Order and Inventory Management, as well as an automated vertical lift module (VLM). We leveraged the WMS design implemented for the main business to standardize warehouse operations across the new combined network of DCs and storage locations. We addressed challenges in serialization, returns processing, inventory counting. We delivered improved real-time data visibility, better cross-functional collaboration, and sophisticated system-driven warehouse operations.
